Durham’s finest landmarks play host to a dazzling array of musical meetings bringing together the worlds of brass, folk, opera, dance and spectacular outdoor theatre. The festival launches with a showcase of new compositions from the Winter North Atlantic collective who have been working with players from the traditional brass community. Other highlights include the mesmerising collaboration between Jan Garbarek & The Hilliard Ensemble and BRASS 2011, and the Bach and Beyond concert from Norway’s Stavanger Band.
