Storytelling is a natural human instinct and one of the oldest art forms. Storytelling uses the power of the spoken word to take listeners on a journey of the imagination... During the Festival, a selection of professional storytellers will provide varied performances across the city for schools, families and adults to experience and enjoy the magic of storytelling. Last year over 1,000 people listened to stories at events during the Festival. This year, the 4th Bristol Storytelling Festival, promises even more: with new storytelling events and venues to add to the successes of the last three years. Friday 5 February 8pm - Vergine Gulbenkian: A Sound Beneath the Waves. A magical storytelling piece from the hearthside traditions of Armenia. Saturday 6 February 10am - 11pm - Following last year's huge success we are once again running a Storytelling half-marathon - a unique event in the UK comprising 13 hours of continuous storytelling - and it's absolutely FREE!!
