The winning plays include 'Bluebird' by Simon Stephen, about an evening in Jimmy's cab becomes a dark odyssey of the soul as he shares the bleak and sometimes shocking stories of his fares; 'Trade' by Richard Oberg, about a family of loners who seek escape via boxing, bathing and a gas oven; 'Four' by Christopher Shinn, about four young Americans searching for independence on the Fourth of July; and 'About the Boy' by Ed Hime, about a beer swilling, chain smoking family trio called Nev, Kev and Trev.
