One of the most popular events in the Hogmanay calendar is the Torchlight Procession and Fire Festival, which gets the city's celebrations off to a dramatic start. Over 10,000 people will raise flaming torches and weave their way through the city centre streets, with an amazing finale of theatre, music and fire. The hottest ticket of Edinburgh's Hogmanay is always the world famous Royal Bank Street Party when 100,000 party-goers will celebrate the New Year in style on and around the capital city's main thoroughfare, Princes Street, below the historic backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.
