Michael Faraday was born at the Elephant and Castle. From a socially excluded background, he rose to be one of the greatest scientists the world has ever known. The Friday is Faraday festival is taking place thanks to a major Millennium Festival Award, and is being produced through close partnerships between Southwark Arts Forum and local venues, schools, colleges and organisations. 18-23 Sept - Workshops, exhibitions, demonstrations, lectures and performances in and around the Elephant and Castle. 22 Sept - Michael Faraday's birthday celebrations in Elephant and Castle. 23 Sept - Faraday Family Funday in Elephant and Castle.
