The annual celebration of Dance and Drama work in Kirklees is bigger than ever this year. In the Main House there are three nights (Wed-Fri) of exciting new work, produced by groups from all over the area. All styles of dance are here, as well as new drama extracts from famous plays. Saturday night showcases two new dance pieces and a new one-act play, Soul Asylum by Helen Binns, this year's Festival Writer. The pieces have all been specially created for the festival. In the Cellar Theatre, we have the premiere of Omega: Walking on the Sun by Helen Binns. Five people are entombed after a nuclear disaster has changed the face of Britain. How did they get there and why? The play is a new interpretation of classic suspense themes.
