Now in its ninth year, the annual festival of lesbian, gay and bisexual writing seeks to develop creativity through writing and performance. This year's event combines discussion, creative expression, theatre, reading, live music, favourite books and food. The Independent has twice promoted proudWORDS as 'Book Event of the Week'. Northern Stage is proud to host the Festival Launch, proudWORDS Party Night with award-winning poet and novelist Jackie Kay, special guests and music, and Live Words brunch in the Foyer.
