Details

Several past favourites are making a welcome return at this year's Snape Proms, including Alex Wilson, who opens the series on 1 August with his Mali Latino project; jazz singer Curtis Stigers, and the monks of the Tashi Lhunpo Monastry, who will be creating a sand mandala during their week-long stay. The Snape Proms line-up also includes the Britten–Pears Orchestra with baritone Christian Gerhaher (who also gives a solo performance of music by Schubert); Gilbert and Sullivan's HMS Pinafore; bewitching singer Gwyneth Herbert; baritone Sir Thomas Allen, performing works by Beethoven, Britten and others; and an exhibition of pictures and etchings by Michael Flint.
