Clive Stafford Smith is the founder and Director of Reprieve, a British non-profit that is opposed to the death penalty. As an attorney he has represented over 300 people facing execution and has won reprieves for all but 6 of them. Since 2002 Stafford Smith has been volunteering his services to detainees at Guantanamo Bay. He fought for, and obtained access to the detention centre and has gone on to help secure the release of 65 prisoners. Clive has collected a number of awards along the way including an OBE for "humanitarian services" in 2000, the Gandhi Peace Prize in 2005 and the Contrarian Prize in 2014. Clive will be talking us through his career so far and his relentless fight for the right to life and the right for representation no matter where you come from and what you have. Teddy Talks are talks for parents with babies. These are held in a relaxed atmosphere where noise and chaos are perfectly acceptable. Please be aware there are stairs into the venue, help will be on hand for buggies but, where possible, a sling is recommended. Bring anything you want to make the experience comfortable for you and your baby and we will ensure there is tea and cake at hand. Teddy Talks are currently aimed at parents with babies under the age of one.
