These play, which were first collected in the Nineteenth Century by Carl Julius Schroer from a community living on the island of Oberufer on the Danube, had been passed on by oral tradition since the middle ages. They represent a unique survival of the tradition of medieval mystery plays. The Paradise Play is suitable for over 7s and The Shepherds' Play is suitable for all ages.
