Thumbelina was found in the centre of a magic tulip and is the size of her mother's thumb. One night she is whisked away from her walnut shell bed by an ugly toad who is intent on her marrying her warty son. Will Thumbelina escape the Toad's clutches or the Beetle's attentions? Perhaps the Field mouse can rescue her? And who is the suitor in the velvet suit who lives in a hole in the ground?
