Nov 7 - Shakespeare, Politics and Rhetoric - The restricted forms of Elizabeth political discourse, modern forms of political conversation with the public and Shakespeare's rhetoric of power will be discussed. Nov 14 - Shakespeare, Music and the Composers - A multi-perspective insight into the continuing role of Shakespeare in Western music old and new. The evening will feature the insights of practitioners including a prominent musicologist and a modern composer (these last two lectures at The Nancy W. Knowles Lecture Theatre, Shakespeare's Globe, New Globe Walk SE1). Nov 28 - Shakespeare and Money - The financial world and markets of late 18th and early 17th century will be considered, assessing how both may had an impact on Shakespeare's life and plays (this lecture takes place in Gresham College, Barnards Inn Hall, Holborn EC1).
