"It is time for Frances Sheridan to emerge ... as the unacknowledged inspiration behind her son’s plays". In 1999 Elizabeth Kuti concluded the unfinished comedy A Trip to Bath. In this lunchtime lecture, she will talk about the process of piecing together the clues to complete a play that was written over 200 years ago; and she will also talk about the debt owed by Richard Brinsley Sheridan to his mother’s plays - and in particular to A Trip to Bath.
