I Was Looking At the Ceiling and Then I Saw the Sky archive

Seven very different young individuals each with a dilemma; from a black guy just out of jail and ready to make a new start to an anchorwoman for a local TV station. Each one is forced to look at themselves again when an earthquake strikes. This stunning piece of musical theatre uses jazz, rock and soul themes and comes from America's most performed living composer, John Adams. Set in Los Angeles, it has parallels with any city and its music speaks to all ages and cultures.

Why is this production touring theatres? In community halls, schools and prisons, it would have a stronger impact and reach the audiences for which it was honourably intended.
