Spring, 1888. Whoever heard of women going on strike? This evocative musical follows the Matchgirls and their struggle for safer working conditions, better wages and no more fines. From the age of 12, girls worked 14 hours each day at the notorious Bryant & May's match factory in London's East End. Share ‘the laughter and the tears, the joys and the fears’ of Victorian England with the newly formed Canvas Theatre Company from the University of Gloucestershire.
