Details
Waiting for a ferry in Piraeus the young Anglo Greek Nikos meets Zorba. They make friends and together set off for a village in Crete where Nikos has inherited an abandoned mine which he hopes to get working again. Arriving, they find themselves staying at an inn run by the Frenchwoman Hortense who immediately falls for Zorba. Meanwhile Nikos is attracted to the young widow a woman hated by the men and women of the village. Comedy, tragedy and pathos unfold in turn in this musical version of a story made famous by the film of the same name starring the late Anthony Quinn.
