Are snails the only creatures that are truly at home with themselves? If the lights are on but no-one?s home then what happens when the light goes out for the evening? If a house is not a home and home is where the heart is what kind of operation does one have to perform to bypass the awkwardness? If you have to give something up in order to move on what happens if you lose something in transit? If you lived in a glass house, wouldn't you be tempted to throw stones? If you are the daughter of migrants, do you also have ants in your pants? And what temperature do you need to wash them at to preserve or assassinate them? No indication on the label. Using fairy tale, fact and family myth Meline invites you into a house where the inhabitants have lost their grounding. Drawing on personal experience of growing up the product of a mixed marriage, British-born Chinese-Pole Meline explores the architecture of her childhood. Examining the distance between herself and her parents, exploring the themes of suspension, displacement and her foreignness within her own environment, Meline reflects upon how this sense of being alien has left her, literally, floating in space.
