The curtain will rise on a unique event which is the first of its kind in this country. The Hull Chinese Phoenix society are organising a European Chinese Operatic night, an annual event involving Chinese Operatic Societies from Belgium, Holland, France, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. It originally started three years ago in Paris and following three successful stagings in France, Switzerland and Holland the Hull New Theatre will be hosting this year's.
