I Pagliacci

T1505204610
Leoncavallo's war-horse I Pagliacci is said to be based on a true story told to the young composer by his magistrate father. An earthy, gritty tale of Calabrian revenge and morality among a troop of travelling entertainers, Pagliacci is one of the great verismo operas and features, of course, Vesti la giubba, staple of the tenor repertoire and concert platform. A performance of Pagliacci is never anything but the most satisfying theatrical and musical experience.
