Details
Shakespeare's story of the clansman Macbeth driven to murder and advancement by his wife. Under the baton of conductor Andrew Morley, young emerging director Valeria Perboni and choreographer Robert Keates, bring together stunning music, immersive performance, movement theatre and body music within the perpetual vicious cycle of power, greed and "evil". Shakespeare's plays provided Verdi with lifelong inspiration, but Macbeth is the first that he adapted for the operatic stage. With themes of political corruption, tyrannical rule, longing for freedom, and a plea for liberation it's as relevant now as it was for Verdi in the mid-nineteenth century in Italy. Packed with amazing choruses, plenty of witches, Scottish refugees and complex main characters; this production is sung in Italian with English surtitles, and will be an immersive performance not to be missed!. Sung in Italian with English surtitlles.
