Traditional Chinese opera. Chi2 have toured as Moby's string section, played with Nelly Furtado, Goldfrapp and Lamb. Now they're making their own headlines with a fusion of storytelling, electro-acoustic music, animation and martial arts in a multi-media production inspired by the classic Chinese tale of Monkey King. Celebrating the richness and colour of Beijing Opera, re-interpreted for the modern day, this is a musically and visually exciting show, blending digital media and music. Based on the 16th century classic Chinese folklore novel Monkey: Journey To The West, Chi2 bring an original soundtrack and filmic interpretation of the storyline. Their live show features an actor/narrator with spoken word, narration and expertise in Kung Fu, exotic Chinese instruments, drums, percussion with costumes and a stunning light show to convey the thrill seeking adventure of the storyline.
