Using the music of Schumann's Dichterliebe and Fraulieben und leben, in a new translation by celebrated conductor David Parry, the piece is a poetic meditation on love's creative and destructive power. Partnering Unknowing is Menotti's The Telephone, a comedy of failed communication. Ben tries to get a word in edgeways but Lucy keeps on being called away... will he ever manage to propose?
