Details

KATE WHITLEY has composed 3 operas so far: Terrible Lips, Bonesong and Unknown Position. She also plays the piano and runs club nights for NONCLASSICAL. Her recent projects include The Rite of Spring in a Peckham car park. UNKNOWN POSITION, a chamber opera exploring the phenomenon of object sexuality, was first performed in Cambridge and since at the Cockpit Theatre, London, and the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. WILLIAM MARSEY's THE BEAUTY OF SEXUALITY is a series of bigotted songs for five singers a capella, taking its lyrics from the extreme right-wing preachers of America's bible-belt, and their followers. It has so far been performed in a crypt and a Church. William started music late and then studied it at Cambridge. He works in an office in London and is currently writing a Sourdough recipe for mezzo-soprano and eleven strings, to be performed in April, and a chamber piece on a Margaret Thatcher interview, to be performed in May.
