As part of an exciting new partnership between UK theatre makers WELL-PLAYED and the New York based PLAYHOUSE CREATURES THEATRE COMPANY, the Questors Theatre will be hosting a three-day program of performances and workshops from 29-31 January 2024. The event will begin with readings of two experimental classics of the 20th century American stage: Sam Shepard's witty, surreal, and outrageous TRUE WEST (Mon 29 Jan), followed by Lanford Wilson's erotic, provocative BURN THIS (Tue 30 Jan), with an international cast, directed by Anthony Biggs. Then, on Wed 31 Jan, join a free to attend participatory workshop hosted by Erica Stevens Abbitt. Over 2 hours, you'll explore the "theatre fire" created by outsider women and Black artists in 1980s New York: extraordinary but less recognized change-makers, from Irene Fornes to Ruth Maleczeck, Julia Miles, Ellen Stewart, Judith Malina and others.
