A medical and musical collaboration by Consultant Gastroenterologist, Dr Peter Isaacs, director Philip Parr and artist/writer, Jane Wildgoose. Viewing the Instruments is a new music theatre performance in which the structure of Marais' piece becomes the theatre for the transplantation of narratives from medical and musical history along with the voices and experiences of Dr Isaacs's medical team and patients today. Marais's musical curiosity is examined, dissected and performed together with new commissions for bass viol, harpsichord and baroque flute from Rachel Stott, Eddie McGuire and Eleanor Firman.
