A Little Hotel on the Side archivePinglet has a bad case of unrequited lust and the object of his passion is Marcelle, the wife of his friend and neighbour, Paillardin. Then, an argument in the Paillardin household presents a golden opportunity: Marcelle, frustrated by her husband's lack of passion, agrees for revenge's sake to an assignation at the far from respectable Free Trade Hotel. As events unfold, however, it becomes apparent that their choice of venue could hardly have been less discreet: not only has Pinglet himself inadvertently sent family friend Mathieu to the Free Trade Hotel with his bevy of daughters but Paillardin, too, it to spend the night there investigating a report of mysterious (and possibly supernatural) noises in the night! When the nephew turns up with the maid and the Inspector of Public Morality raids the joint, things start to get really complicated.
