Three misfits, a late night bar and the music of Tom Waits all come together to create a fascinating music industry tale. The story draws on the classic years when Waits was recording for the Asylum label, a time when he seemed to be living out the collective low life pathos and broken dreams of his 'characters' , and before he reinvented himself, sobered up, married and moved into films.
