Burying Caesar archive1998. Ben Lynton, 'the greatest writer of the 20th Century' , is dead. Britain, and indeed the wider world, is plunged into mourning on an unparalleled scale, as the public and press swarm outside the family home to pay tribute, lay flowers and say farewell. Family and friends gather within to both bury and praise this fiercest of literary lions, to celebrate his life and achievements.. And the fact that, though the goose may be dead, his golden eggs are still incubating: lucrative deals on Hollywood biopics, opening the estate to the public, a collected works.. There's even talk of a national Ben Lynton Day! Then Ben's other eggs begin to hatch. On this most momentous of days, a seemingly innocent visitor emerges from the shadows. The dark secret he carries will tear the family apart and shock the entire world. What exactly is the truth? And who has the right to know it? Is the golden goose about to become an albatross round his family's neck? Who must they bribe, bully, blackmail or bump off to keep his secrets safe, his myth alive and his money theirs. More importantly, where is Cordelia? What's in the safety deposit box? And, of the two mysterious masterpieces, which is 'The Real McCoy.
