Michelle is about to turn forty and is desperate to finish her first novel before the big day arrives. Retreating to a countryside cottage, typewriter in tow, Michelle invites her oldest friend Freya to join her and help get the book finished, only to find that Freya is harbouring problems of her own. Before long, Michelle has taken to desperate measures to finish her book, seeking inspiration in all the wrong places and jeopardising her friendship with Freya in the process. Character is a dark comedy about two women trying to grow up and - in the process - keep their friendship afloat. Running time: 1hour
