Alone in his upmarket London flat, theatre reviewer Hugh receives an unexpected guest in the form of Alex as he forces his way in at gunpoint and takes Hugh hostage. Knowing all of his darkest secrets, Alex is all set to ruin Hugh's seemingly perfect life. Through a combination of good wine, bad reviews and a handful of ugly truths, Hugh is left wondering, is Alex really his nemesis or is he in fact his saviour?
