Chat is a rough look at the contemporary phenomenon of the "chat-room" as a place where people can assume different identities, make new acquaintances and live out, to sometimes unforeseen ends, virtual fantasies. With a mix of live chat-room play, lecture and documentary video, with a hip-hop live mix, Chat uses theatre to share in a public forum, some of the arguments that create the "chat" phenomenon. Performed in English and Czech, what is most affecting in "Chat" is how the ubiquitous "universal" language of the internet, here proves to be a distinctly local phenomena bringing into relief a group of characters fragmented across a portrait of the city of Prague itself.
