Christie in Love
T01427046950
Christie in Love is a unique telling of the events leading up to the murder of seven women and the subsequent hanging of John Reginald Christie; a story which gripped and shocked the tabloid-reading public of post-war Britain. Without seeking to over dramatise these events, Howard Brenton succeeds in depicting the brutality of murder in both surreal and real terms. The juxtaposition of comedy and violence makes for an unsettling, macabre experience, leaving the audience to draw its own conclusions.

The subject matter of Christie in Love is not for the faint-hearted but it is still relevent, particularly in the light of recent cases such as Hindley, West and Shipman.
