An old Arabian tale told anew. The Sultan's wife has died and he is tricked into believing that he must marry his daughter. When his daughter learns this, she lees across the desert to another city where she finds work in the Palace kitchens. One night she secretly appears at the Palace Ball in all her loveliness, where the Prince is smitten by her mysterious beauty. Sounds familiar? This Arabian tale is an eastern ancestor of 'Cinderella'.
