Country and Irish

After the enormous success of
The Derry Boat in Ireland and Scotland, Little John Nee's new show
County and Irish was premiered at the 2002 Galway Arts Festival. This new show takes us inside 'a little Irish cottage with a horseshoe o'er the door' and 'as close to the farmyard as most sophisticated folks want to go.' But with Little John Nee at the helm this is no ordinary story of I5rish country life. Tommy Duffy is a farmer's son getting ready to go to a dance. He is haunted by a story told to him by an old Orangeman; an eyewitness account of eight U-boats on the River Foyle. Tommy Duffy's kitchen is the setting for this celebration of country people and rural life peculiar to County Donegal.
