Daedalus and Icarus - Iran:  New Voices archiveIn an attempt to escape imprisonment from King Minos' labyrinth, Daedalus invents a flying machine to free himself and his son Icarus from the island. Performed in Persian with English surtitles, using deliberately low-tech inventiveness on a simple set, Mungu Theatre Company explores the complex father-son relationship and Daedalus' autocratic nature that eventually leads to Icarus' catastrophic death. Mungu Theatre Company makes its UK debut with its award-winning take on the Greek myth Daedalus and Icarus.
