Daimon Project

Ancient Egyptians called it the Ka. Ancient Romans called it the Genius. Daimon is the word used by Plato, Hillman and Jung: aside from dictionary entries, it is the demon residing inside me, the image of myself I'm called upon to fulfil in my lifetime, it is the reason why I was born. It does not provide you with a reason to exist, but it is rather the form of my uniqueness. Vocation, character, talent. What I must do. What I must have. What I am. DNA and environment are not enough. There is something more and it has been there forever for everyone of us. The daimon has been urging us since our childhood: most of the games we used to play predict what we will be doing as grown-ups; those games represent an attempt to pursue our inclinations. Alter ego, Avatar, Alien - whatever it is, everybody must live with it: it may devour you from the inside, it may occasionally crop up embodying regret, you may have clipped its wings, you may be still looking for it or you may have fulfilled it. It is the ultimate possession, the impossible exorcism. How many people around the world are actually doing what they feel they were born to do?
