Jo Wallace has died, she doesn't realise this however until The Grim Reaper turns up suited and booted at the end of her bed. The Reaper explains that he is there to assess her life and deliver her to Heaven or Hell depending on how she defends her sins. Jo is taken on a journey very similar to Ebeneezer Scrooge's in a Christmas Carol but things have changed since then.
