The hot morning of August 4, 1892, Lizzie Borden murdered her stepmother with an axe, in their family home in Massachusetts. Abby Borden's body was found between the bed and bureau, in the guest room. Ninety minutes later, Lizzie killed her father, Andrew Borden, in the same way. He was found lying with his head on the sofa arm, downstairs. Lizzie Borden was acquitted at trial due to a lack of evidence. Lizzie Borden took an axe, And gave her mother forty whacks, When she saw what she had done She gave her father forty-one.
