Don Perlimplin archiveThe eponymous hero is persuaded to marry the beautiful Belisa who is unfaithful to him six times on their wedding night. Perlimplin, in love with a wife he cannot satisfy, persuades his wife to fall for an imaginary suitor. Perlimplin tells Belisa he will murder this suitor, she says she will kill him if he does. Perlimplin disguised as the suitor, kills himself, thereby fulfilling tragically, his wife's and his own fantasy.
