Edna Willis believes that her husband, Bobby, a plumber for the Belfast Corporation, has begun to lose interest in their marriage as he is 'coming up to the dangerous age'. Aided and abetted by her neighbour and friend, Isobel, Edna decides to take steps in order to get even.
