Don't You Rock Me Daddio archiveSet in 1957, Don't You Rock Me Daddio captures the raw beginnings of the 1960s British popular music explosion. In the spring of 1957 a musical phenomenon occurred. Inspired by new music phenomenon occurred. Inspired by new music sensation Lonnie Donegan, groups of teenagers all over the country got together, grabbed anything that made a noise, and started to make their own music. It was called Skiffle. From John Lennon and The Quarrymen in Liverpool to Joe Brown and The Spacemen in London and just about everywhere in between, Skiffle groups surfaced from all corners of the land. Don't You Rock Me Daddio tracks one group of hopefuls seeking fame and fortune, The Wabash Cannonballs. Struggling Soho coffee bar owner Daddio doesn't want fame, he just needs a fortune, cos he owes one - to the protection racketeers. His future looks ominous. He sees Skiffle as the answer to his woes and decides to manage the Wabash Cannonballs. He'll steer them into untold riches, and himself out of dire trouble...
