It tells the story of a man who, following the death of his father, eschews his consumer life-style and moves into the woods on the outskirts of Oslo. He adopts a baby elk and the play follows their adventures as Doppler attempts to live a life surrounded by nature, free from creature comforts, and where bartering, rather than cash, is king.
