A lonely woman runs a village shop. She is victimised by local thugs. A vicious attack. A dramatic court case. Into the angry village comes an ambitious but disenchanted lawyer, a saviour to organise the neighbourhood watch, to sort out the problem once and for all, but the story spirals horribly out of control. In these strange times of antipathy towards those perceived as outsiders in our divided national culture, Peter Cann's play deals directly with the human weakness behind racial and class hatred, plunging deep into a world of vengeance.
