As a boy at Christ s Hospital fifty years ago I took part in the quarter centenary celebrations and subsequently played Malvolio, Macbeth and Richard III in Big School. We did one school play a year then. As a professional actor I ve worked with people like Hayley Mills, Alan Bates, Rex Harrison and Paul Scofield but I never imagined I d return, with Felicity Harrison and a present day Housey boy and girl, to give this haunting history. But here we are, with murder, madness and incest. Educated at Christ s Hospital 1782 -1789, the great essayist and poet, Charles Lamb, is the hero.
