English for Foreigners archiveA dark comedy about the power of English as a foreign language. James, an Englishman, and Bill, an American, are abducted in a foreign country and forced to teach English to Smike, the son of the local dictator, Fenge. Once Smike has learned English, they will be allowed to leave. Fenge needs a successor, someone with an authoritative voice, and the only language of authority is English. Isn't it?
