Drugs have power. They can do almost anything to a functioning mind and body. Over the last fifteen years there has been a coalition between neuroscientists, philosophers surgeons and psychologists to enquire into and understand the inner workings of the brain and what consciousness is. Ether Frolics will bring art and theatre into that enquiry, immersing its audience in a disturbingly disorientating and frequently comical journey into the history and contemporary practice of anesthesia, leading them to experience their own consciousness slipping away from them.
