Field, Awakening archiveIstanbul, Turkey, 15 July 2016. A young woman returns to a country that no longer feels like home. A country that will feel even less like home before this devastating evening is over. After years of estrangement from her native Turkey, Rana reunites with three of her old friends Aziz, Bedir and Gerdun on an Istanbul football field. They pick up their friendship where they left off, unaware that around them the city is in the midst of an attempted coup d'etat - an event that will change the course of their lives. Spanning across the surreal events of one evening as a nation stands on the precipice, Field, Awakening is a tale of alliances, betrayal, and lost youth: an anti-homecoming about a stranger in a strange land.
