Gorilla in the Roses archiveA comedy about the life of Joe Orton. Joe Orton was born in Leicester in 1933 and battered to death in 1967. From December 1966 until his death, he kept a series of diaries chronicling the bizarre lifestyle of a blossoming playwright, the successes in London and failures on Broadway, his sexual escapades - at his own Mother's funeral and in Morocco - and perhaps most significantly, his 'marriage' to Kenneth Halliwell, a relationship that turned him from a 'nobody' into one of the most prominent comic playwrights of the era.
