Guantanamo Boy archiveKhalid likes football, hip hop, computer games and has a huge crush on a girl in his class - like any other teenage boy. But being a Muslim in the aftermath of 9/11 can be very dangerous. Snatched in the middle of the night he is thrown into a nightmare world in which he is presumed guilty. Alone, afraid and far from home, will he have the strength to survive? Guantanamo Boy is one ordinary boy's story about having to grow up in extraordinary circumstances. It is an emotionally challenging piece of work enabling young people to explore the political landscape of war and hatred and at the same time celebrate the human spirit. Devised with a strong multi-media element the production is an immersive experience for the audience.
