Had I a Song archiveIvor Gurney, the First World War poet, fought in the trenches and tried to integrate this experience into his music and poetry. From his poems and compositions, which might be likened to the style of Vaughan Williams, it is clear that the folly of this long-forgotten war is still very much alive and real. This is a story about fear and beauty, aggression and responsibility, intolerance and indifference.
